Profile
Open Sight Hampshire is working with AFC Totton and the Hampshire Football Association to launch Walking Football sessions for blind and partially sighted people.
These hugely enjoyable sessions, held at AFC Totton’s easily accessible ground, offers attendees the chance to keep fit, have fun and meet new people.
Open to anyone, regardless of age or degree of sight loss, the sessions are not only very sociable and light-hearted but do encourage a little competitive banter too!
The hour-long sessions, held on the fourth Friday of each month from 10.30 – 11.30am, are hosted by a Coach from the Hampshire FA.
Open Sight Hampshire’s Community Development Manager, Terry Smith, says, “Open Sight is absolutely delighted to be working alongside both AFC Totton and the Hampshire FA to offer local VIP this great opportunity to try something a little different. Many folk who used to enjoy a game of football can now experience the joys of playing again. Along with the associated off-pitch socialising, the sessions are a great way of keeping fit too.”
