The Aston Villa Foundation run weekly Walking Football sessions for anybody over the age of 50 to participate in.
Held in the shadow of Villa Park at the Academy Building, the sessions are an ideal way to meet new people and stay active.
Walking Football is a slower paced version of the beautiful game but it still offers the competitive element that some players crave.
Our coaches regularly organise matches against Walking Football teams from around the country as well as those in the local area.
A participant in the weekly one-hour session can expect to take part in a warm-up before the group are sorted into teams for a game.
Depending on numbers, teams will be sorted between those aged 50-65 and players aged 65 and over.
Walking Football is primarily aimed at those wanting to keep fit despite their ageing years or for those that had to stop playing for whatever reasons.
The sessions are held every Tuesday from 2-3pm at The Academy building at Villa Park.
