Sky Blues in the Community Social Football. Meet new friends and improve your physical and mental well-being.
A slower paced version of the beautiful game – gives this generation the opportunity to continue a sport they may have always loved.
This project aims to tackle loneliness and isolation as we age, keeps the older generation active and reduces weight-related issues.
We have now expanded to encompass specific sessions for people living with cancer – this offers a support group and a social environment for local patients living with the effects the effects of cancer.
In connection with our Prostate Cancer Walking Football, we encourage PSA testing in all our attendees to increase early diagnosis. The leading volunteer on our Prostate Cancer sessions was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer as a result of our regular health testing.
Sessions Include:
• Tuesday – 7pm-8pm XCEL Leisure Centre 7pm – 8pm
• Tuesday – Bedworth United Football Club, 10.30am-12pm
• Thursday – St Finbarr’s Sports and Social Club, 10.30am-12pm
• Friday – The Alan Higgs Centre, 10.30am-12pm (Cancer Support Session)
Over 50s – £5 per session except Macmillan WF Fri: FREE (Donations welcome)
