Profile
A new version of the game, Walking Tennis has launched across the county over the last few months and is now a popular activity at many of the top clubs.
Played at a more gentle pace and with a slower ball, Walking Tennis is ideally suited to those who just need a little more time getting to the ball, as well as those who are perhaps living with an illness or recovering from an injury.
Walking tennis follows the same scoring system and rules as the regular game with two exceptions – no running or jumping, and the ball can bounce twice. Other than that it’s the same exciting game of tactics, positioning and ball play.
Several clubs are already holding weekly walking tennis sessions – see the list below. All you need to do is turn up and give it a go! We will add to this list as more clubs start to offer walking tennis. Watch this space!
