Gloucester Rugby is proud to announce the inaugural Festival of Rugby at Kingsholm Stadium, a three-day celebration of community rugby taking place on May 23, 24, and 25. The event will showcase the very best of grassroots rugby, with a variety of competitions and festivals designed to engage players of all abilities and backgrounds.
The festival will kick off on Friday 23 May, with a focus on inclusivity and growth in the sport. The schedule includes:
- An Emerging Schools Festival for girls who are just starting their rugby journey.
- A Mixed Ability Rugby Festival, highlighting the importance of making the game accessible for all.
- A Walking Rugby Festival, providing an opportunity for those who love the game to continue playing in a modified format.
On Saturday 24 May, County rugby returns to Kingsholm for the first time since 2009, bringing together the best talent from across the region in a showcase of high-quality competition.
The festival will conclude on Sunday 25 May, with the prestigious North Gloucester Combination Cup Finals Day, where local clubs will battle it out for top honours, bringing together players, families, and supporters for a thrilling day of grassroots rugby action.
In addition to the on-field action, Gloucester Rugby will also be launching events to celebrate community coaches, match officials, and club volunteers, recognising their invaluable contributions to the sport. More details on these events will be released soon.
