Belgian Walking Rugby Tournament

For this successful first, Belgian clubs were able to learn from experienced teams, without being unworthy — quite the contrary. It was also an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of refereeing and perfect their practice, like the Calaisiens, who started walking rugby around the same time as the Belgians, but already benefit from a little more experience with two tournaments under their belt.

The host club was awarded the fair play prize, awarded by the British refereeing body and offered by the Nicolas Gigot Foundation.

The feedback has been positive from all points of view, with the British having already confirmed their presence for the second edition of the tournament, which will be held next year at ASUB Rugby Waterloo. The tournament will now alternate each year between the two pioneering clubs in the discipline in Belgium.

Many British clubs are showing interest and have already expressed their willingness to participate.

Everything will be done to increase participation, by welcoming new Belgian and French clubs between now and the next edition.
