Profile
Walking Rugby is a slower paced version of touch rugby. Anything faster than a walk is not allowed, the ball cannot be passed over head height and crucially there is no tackling involved! Instead, players are allowed to hold onto the ball for no more than three seconds before passing, keeping the pace moving and giving the other team an opportunity to intercept. It is particularly suited to those who cannot play contact Rugby anymore.
This is a less physical, slower paced version of touch rugby with adapted laws to suit participant needs. Sessions cater for all backgrounds and experience levels of Rugby. It is a fantastic way to increase your physical and social activity levels whilst making friends with like-minded people. Participants are welcome to socialise in the on-site cafe afterwards.
Please wear trainers and clothing suitable for physical activity. The sessions take place inside, so boots/studs are not required. You may also wish to bring a drink and anything else you may need for your comfort or safety, such as medication.
FREE Walking Rugby Wednesdays 11.30am to 12.30pm. Sessions take place at the York St John University Sports Park, Haxby Road, York, YO31 8TA.
Free car parking is available on site.
