What to Expect
Walking Netball is a slower-paced version of the game – no running or jumping – focused on fun, fitness, and social connection. Players walk throughout the session, can take 1–2 steps when in possession, and hold the ball for up to 4 seconds. It’s low-impact and joint-friendly, making it perfect for improving cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Socially, it offers genuine connection – friendly group settings, teamwork, and a great sense of belonging. Research even suggests it supports mental wellbeing and reduces social isolation, especially among middle to older aged women.
Why We’re Excited
Walking Netball complements our club’s inclusive spirit – it’s fun, affirming, and accessible. Whether you’re returning from injury, easing into netball or looking for a gentler form of fitness, this is a brilliant addition to our Ashby community.
