Redditch walking cricket group appeals for more members

The group play at 5.30pm every Wednesday at  Redditch Cricket ground on Bromsgrove Road.The team plays two tournaments a year – one in Worcester and one in Malvern.

Organiser Rob Rowberry said: “Redditch won the tournament at Malvern last year and we really would like to make it a double this year.

“Also just weeks ago we were equal second out of a group of about 15 teams from all over the UK. “Please come and join us, we would love to hear from you.”

The organisers of Walking Cricket in Redditch are urging people to come and try out the sessions to boost membership. The group play at 5.30pm every Wednesday at  Redditch Cricket ground on Bromsgrove Road.The team plays two tournaments a year – one in Worcester and one in Malvern.

A combined team of players from our Colchester and Chelmsford walking cricket hubs achieved a fantastic victory at Lords this week. The team competed against MCC, Middlesex and Surrey in a 16 over fast paced series. They played a total of 6 games throughout the day at the Lords indoor cricket centre. Old Woking’s men’s walking cricket team, The Remnants, are holding a come and try day for new players. The free event will take place at the club from 10.30am to 2pm on Wednesday, September 2.
