ROUTES and paths across East Lothian will be explored during an initiative encouraging people to get outdoors.
The East Lothian Walking Festival returns next month with a variety of walks across the county. All of the walks are free, with many starting at or near bus stops or railway stations.
Maggie Allan, of East Lothian Ramblers and a member of the East Lothian Walking Festival steering group, said: “It’s hard to believe this is only our third year!
“We have over 30 walks lined up for our programme already and expect more to come on board between now and the start of Walkfest24 in August…
“We have walks of various lengths and challenges, some themed around local history, photography and geology, and others specifically for young people or families.
“This year we have even introduced a special walking sports element – it’s a great programme!”
