Fun, fitness and friendship at Walking Netball “Come and Try” day

25 Apr 2026 1 min read No comments Walking Netball News

Last week, the Lakes Entrance Netball Association held a successful “Come and Try” day for women aged over 60.

Walking netball is a modified version of the traditional game and is fully inclusive, allowing anyone to participate regardless of age, fitness level, ability or previous netball experience.

As the name suggests, walking netball is played at a slower, walking pace, with a strong emphasis on participation, enjoyment and safety rather than competition.

The over 60s, low-impact walking netball program will be held at the Lakes Entrance Recreation Reserve on Tuesdays at 10am, starting Tuesday, April 21.

It also encourages social interaction and is a great way to make new friends or spend time with existing ones on a regular basis.

Everyone is welcome to attend, just like Janet, Jill, Margie, Lila and Di did at the “Come and Try” day.

They enjoyed a fun, safe and non-threatening environment that improves wellbeing while playing netball with other like-minded women.
