A walking netball group in Penrith is celebrating its first anniversary.
Penrith Walking Netball group was founded in January 2024 with the aim of promoting physical fitness and social wellbeing.
The group, whose membership ranges in age from 35 to 80 years old, meets every Monday afternoon between 1.30pm and 3pm at Penrith Leisure Centre, celebrated its first anniversary at its weekly session on Monday, January 27.
The session saw participants enjoy special drills and a commemorative match.
Maureen Whitemore is one of the group’s four walking netball hosts who initially founded the group in 2024 and after celebrating its anniversary she was on hand to discuss how it got started…
Maureen also helps to run a regular Netball group in Penrith which meets every Wednesday night between 8pm and 9pm.
