Profile
We are a diverse and inclusive walking rugby group started in October 2023, who, although predominately aiming at men and women of age 50+, welcome anyone of any age who is willing to enter into the spirit of playing non-contact walking rugby.
You don’t need to have any previous rugby experience, just a willingness to learn new skills, get fitter and make new friends. We aim to play in the many festivals that take place all over Wales & England with the emphasis on taking part with your teammates – not winning. There is no tackling, scrums, mauls, line-outs or kicking with the priority being firmly on safety and well-being.
Social events, sing songs, tours and festivals are part and parcel of the walking rugby calendar and we get to play at famous venues such as The Gnoll, Cardiff Arms Park, and even the Millennium Stadium!
The game is growing all over the UK and caters for experienced former players and those who have never played any level of competitive rugby. It’s a great way of making new friends and firmly aimed at maintaining physical and mental health wellbeing.
If you fancy giving it go, then pop along for a look or better still – just join in!
