Profile
Walking Rugby is a competitive but non contact, passing game, tackles are made by a two handed touch (not push.) There are no rucks, mauls or line outs and scrums are a simplified passive way of restarting the game. Without the collisions and impacts of traditional rugby it is a game of strategy and tactics, suitable for men and women and most of all it is a great fun way of keeping fit.
Walking Rugby is suitable for older people, both women and men, people recovering from injury or illness. Many of our players have played rugby but this is not essential as we offer an induction programme suitable for new team members.
Thursdays: 6pm to 7pm Salisbury RFC (outdoors summer months) / Wyvern College (indoors winter months) Tuesdays: 11am to 12 noon Five Rivers Leisure Centre (all year round)
Games are played in two halves of 10 minutes each way, competitions are usually in Festival format playing several games over an afternoon.
New Players – We are a friendly group with a wide range of abilities and experience. If you would like to join us you are welcome to join our sessions and see if Walking Rugby is for you, if you like it you can join the club later.
