Walking Tennis has been designed to be accessible for all. It’s still tennis – but with a few tweaks: you can’t run or jump; you use slightly different balls, and you can let the ball bounce twice for extra time. It can be purely social, or nicely competitive – but everyone can play!
Every Saturday 11am-12pm Bristol Central Tennis Club
Open to everyone – £4 per session. First session is free. All equipment provided. (Free for members)
Walking Tennis membership – you can join as a Walking Tennis member for £45 per year – which entitles you to play the regular Saturday session every week. (Alternatively, walking tennis enthusiasts may prefer to become weekday members so they can book their own courts to play in the week, and attend the Saturday session free)
Walking Tennis is for anyone that wants to play tennis, but at their own pace. It’s ideal for those who:
• Used to play tennis
• Have never played tennis before
• Are looking to get more active
• Are recovering from an injury
You can play tennis at any age, and Walking Tennis offers an easy way for older people to keep their body and mind active – while also enjoying the social side of being part of a tennis community. Many players even find their fitness and skills improve so much they move into playing full tennis.
