This weekend, the spirit of inclusion took centre stage as members from Kent Cricket Community Trust’s Walking Cricket hubs formed a team to play Canterbury Cricket Club’s Neurological team.
The two sides came together for a friendly game playing a brand-new format called Zoned Cricket. A creative twist on the classic game developed by Canterbury’s own captain, Bob Bowman. The format allows players of all abilities to shine, making the match not just competitive—but truly collaborative.

The atmosphere was cheerful, filled with laughter, encouragement, and a shared love for the game. More than just a match, it was a celebration of what sport can be: accessible, adaptable, and inclusive.
With smiles all around and plenty of post-match chatter, both teams are already looking forward to future fixtures. This match marks the beginning of what promises to be a powerful partnership—one that champions community, creativity, and cricket for everyone.
