A man who survived a cardiac arrest thanks to a defibrillator has inspired a fundraising campaign.
David Croft, 82, a member of Gosport Road Runners, collapsed last July while preparing for a run.

He was saved by the swift actions of players from Gosport and Fareham Walking Rugby team, who began resuscitation before a defibrillator was brought from inside the club.
Matthew Crofts, a volunteer with the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS), assisted at the scene.
The defibrillator proved vital in reviving Mr Croft, and paramedics later confirmed it had saved his life.
Mr Croft’s family called Mr Crofts a week later to express their gratitude.

They said: “We want to give you my heartfelt thanks for your prompt, selfless actions, bringing David back after his cardiac arrest.”
The incident led to the launch of the Dying for A Defib appeal by Chris Davis of Gosport and Fareham Walking Rugby, raising funds for outdoor, 24-hour defibrillators.
The first defibrillator funded by the appeal was installed outside the rugby club.
On December 20, the Mayor of Gosport, councillor Kirsten Bradley, the Mayor of Fareham, councillor Louise Clubley, and Dame Caroline Dinenage MP attended the unveiling, joined by Mr Croft’s family and those involved in the rescue.
To support the campaign further, Bayside Cabin Café in Stokes Bay hosted a sold-out charity quiz night, raising £1,131.
Gary Parker of Nation Radio South and Easy Radio, who hosted the event, said: “I’m really pleased with the amount raised.

“Knowing that money from the charity quiz will help people near me in the future is a nice thought.
“I want to thank everyone who came along and thanks to the team at Bayside Cabin as they looked after over 110 people last Friday!”
Cafe owner Adrian Chalk said: “It was a pleasure to support the Dying for a Defib appeal.
“Gary’s quizzes are always fun and everyone enjoyed the evening.
“I want to thank everyone who donated raffle prizes too and we’ll be hosting more charity events throughout the year.”
