Invitation to Avoca Hockey Club Walking Hockey Festival 2026

Avoca Hockey Club is delighted to invite teams to our Second Annual Walking Hockey Festival, taking place on Sunday, 14th June 2026.

Following the success of last year’s fun-filled and inclusive event, we are pleased to host the festival once again and to welcome both Ireland-based Walking Hockey players and visiting teams from across the water. The 2025 festival was marked by great spirit, friendly competition and genuine camaraderie — and we look forward to building on that again this year.

Festival Format

Matches will be played on the Avoca HC astro pitch at Newpark Comprehensive School.

We anticipate:

• Small-sided games (likely 7-a-side)

• Concurrent matches running throughout the day

• A format designed to maximise participation and enjoyment

The final schedule and composition of the festival will be confirmed closer to the date once team entries and player numbers are finalised. Our priority is to ensure a well-balanced, inclusive and enjoyable day for all participants.

Post-Festival Gathering

Following the matches, players and supporters are warmly invited to join us at The Wishing Well, a local Avoca-supporting venue, where we will continue the social side of the festival and enjoy some well-earned refreshments.
