Weymouth Tennis Club launches walking tennis sessions

Tennis enthusiasts are invited to try something new this spring as Weymouth Lawn Tennis Club launches friendly walking tennis sessions at the courts in Radipole Gardens.

The first session will take place on April 1 at 11am, and the club said that everyone is welcome to come along and give it a go.

Best of all, the initial sessions will be free of charge, making it the perfect opportunity to try tennis in a relaxed and supportive setting.

The sessions will be led by LTA coach Clive Stow, who is keen to help more people enjoy the game.

Weymouth Walking Tennis

Walking tennis offers a slower-paced version of the sport, ideal for those who may have reduced mobility, are returning from injury, or simply prefer a gentler form of exercise.

With the option of two bounces on the court and a slower tennis ball, players have more time to reach the ball and enjoy longer rallies. Each session will include a little light coaching, some friendly play, and – perhaps the most important part = free refreshments and a chance for a chat afterwards.
