A tennis club’s Diversity Tennis Day proved a hit as it showcased inclusive tennis activities.
The event, held on Saturday, July 5, attracted participants keen to experience a range of inclusive activities, including Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) tennis, walking tennis, visually impaired tennis, and wheelchair tennis.
The event, now in its third year, was held at The Hive in Ely and saw a steady stream of people eager to participate in the various activities.
Paul, a wheelchair tennis expert, demonstrated techniques to a range of abilities, from newcomers to seasoned players who could no longer play the standing version.

Tips from a GB Special Olympics coach were particularly well-received.
Fiona and Emma were also on hand, coaching participants of all ages.
The walking tennis courts were busy throughout the day, with participants of all ages swapping in and out.
Volunteers helped direct play and keep score, while also showcasing the club’s new Diversity T-shirts, which will be sold on the website to raise funds…
Regular sessions include walking tennis from 2pm to 3pm on Tuesdays at the Hive, followed by an after-school SEND session from 4pm to 4.40pm.
The club is looking forward to welcoming both new and returning participants to these sessions.
The third annual Diversity Day was a testament to the growing popularity and acceptance of inclusive sports, providing a platform for people of all abilities to enjoy the game.
